POW/MIA Remains Recovery Team
Lost in Helicopter Crash

Sixteen people who were part of an advance POW/MIA remains recovery team were killed in early April when their helicopter crashed in Quang Binh Province in Vietnam. The team included seven American servicemen and nine Vietnamese who were surveying potential excavation sites as part of the ongoing search for remains of American servicemen killed in the Vietnam War.

Our hearts go out to the families of these men. We know all too well the anguish that comes from losing someone you love. Their loss sadly reminds us of the price a country must pay when it goes to war.

The individuals lost in this crash were trying to bring peace and closure to families of men lost in service to their country. For their honorable and unselfish work, we will remember them with deep gratitude and admiration.
